Akiba's Trip: Undead and Undressed heading to PlayStation 3, PS Vita

Marvelous USA publisher Xseed Games will bring action role-playing game Akiba's Trip: Undead and Undressed to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, the company announced today.

The game was originally released in Japan last year as Akiba's Trip 2. Akiba's Trip is the tale of a young man and his friends fighting against a vampire-like threat called Synthisters. To destroy Synthisters, players expose the monsters to sunlight by pummeling them and pulling off their clothing.

When asked about potential censorship for the game, an Xseed representative told Polygon that though it's still too early to tell, "historically Xseed Games has tried to not censor titles or to limit any censorship."

"Mostly when we have, it's been for cultural issues (minigames only relevant to a Japanese audience, for example), or contractual issues (tie-ins with other publishers in Japan that our contract doesn't allow for)," the spokesperson said.

According Xseed's Twitter account, the game will be available with Japanese audio for both PS3 and Vita platforms. The company is currently looking into offering Japanese and English audio. A Facebook page for the game is currently up and will offer more information in the weeks to come.

Akiba's Trip: Undead and Undressed will be available this summer. Check out the trailer above for a brief look.

Xseed is responsible for publishing several Japanese titles in North America, including Killer is Dead, Pandora's Tower and Ys: Memories of Celceta.

Update: An Xseed spokesperson told Polygon that the game's content "won't be censored at all."

"Everything that was in the Japanese game will be in our version," the spokesperson said.
