Pier Solar HD heads to 11 platforms in Q2 2014, officially licensed for Xbox One and PS4

Pier Solar HD, the remake of a 2010 Genesis role-playing game, is due to be released on 11 platforms in Q2 2014 and is now officially licensed for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Previously, the company stated that other versions, including Android, Dreamcast, Linux, Mac, Ouya, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC will be released March 25. The PC version is currently on Steam Greenlight where it is collecting community votes to be distributed on Valve's platform.

The Wii U version is slated to launch in April and, according to Tulio Goncalves, president of developer Watermelon, it will make use of the hardware's second screen. The second screen functionality may also be used in a Nintendo 3DS version.

The Kickstarter-funded game met its $139,000 fundraising goal last November, where WaterMelon raised more than $231, 000 to develop the title for modern platforms. You can see Pier Solar HD in action in the recently released teaser trailer above and be sure to read our feature about the Genesis's last RPG.
