PixelJunk Inc., the soup-creation simulation from Kyoto, Japan-based Q-Games, has been renamed. The Windows PC game, in which players cooperatively harvest ingredients, build factories and craft soup, is now called Nom Nom Galaxy.
"While we've loved the former name, during development this past year we've wanted a name captures the spacey deliciousness of the game," Q-Games said in a release timed with this weekend's BitSummit event. "'Nom Nom,' which is an onomatopoeia for enjoying delicious food in both English and Japanese, fits this perfectly."
Nom Nom Galaxy will be hitting Steam Early Access on March 13 and attendees of BitSummit in Kyoto can play the latest build of the game at Q-Games' booth. The recently announced PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate for PlayStation 4 and Vita will also be playable there.
The game formerly known as PixelJunk Inc. was announced last year as a procedurally-generated "genre bender" that marries platforming, real-time strategy and tower defense mechanics. Q-Games expects to release Nom Nom Galaxy later this year on Windows PC, with Linux and Mac versions to follow.
