Destiny of Spirits, Q Entertainment's free-to-play role-playing game, will arrive on PlayStation Vita in North America March 25, Sony Computer Entertainment America producer Kumi Yuasa revealed today on the PlayStation Blog.
The RPG will be released in other regions "around the same time," according to Yuasa. Meeting players and swapping spirits is an integral part of the game, and international players are designed to help each other.
"Interaction with fellow players from around the world will enable you to trade spirits and obtain unique spirits only available in certain regions," Yuasa wrote, "your friends in Japan and Europe will have an entirely different set of spirits that you'll want to get a hold of to use in battle!"
Destiny of Spirits will see several tweaks at launch, thanks to the closed beta held last October. Thanks to player feedback, load times have been reduced and spirit levels and slots have been increased.
Word of the game first appeared last April, when Sony filed for a trademark. Sony made the 2D RPG official during E3 2013. For more on the game, be sure to check out our interview with Yuasa, who described Destiny of Spirits as a "destination-based RPG."
