Portalarium's Shroud of the Avatar raised $333,000 in crowdfunding last month, marking the project's highest funding month to date other than the Kickstarter's launch month in April 2013, the studio announced today.
Total funds raised for the project have now reached $3,698,098 from 86,077 backers, according to the game's official website.
This funding has allowed Portalarium to expand its development team — now at 31 members — and add a handful of new features to the game. These include Monty Python-style coconuts that sound like horse hooves when banged together and medieval-style wooden hot tubs.
To celebrate Shroud of the Avatar's one-year anniversary, Portalarium is also holding several events through April 7, including giveaways for an Alienware gaming laptop, a trip to Austin for a tour of Portalarium's studios and Founder Adventure Pledge packs.
Shroud of the Avatar is currently in early access is set to launch in full for Linux, Mac and Windows PC this October. Most recently, the game implemented online multiplayer with a chat system and the ability to add friends.
