Island management simulator Tropico 5 will launch globally for Windows PC on May 23, developer Kalypso Media announced today.

The Mac and Xbox 360 versions will launch later this summer, with a PlayStation 4 version coming in fall. Kalypso is also currently developing a Linux version for Steam OS, will be released for Steam Boxes.

As El Presidente, players will guide their island of Tropico through its colonization into the future. This new franchise installment includes new branches of scientific exploration, trading mechanics, technology and building elements for the titular island. Tropico 5 also features multiplayer for the first time in the series, with up to four players able to participate in co-op and competitive multiplayer.

Tropico 5 was announced last summer for Linux, Mac, Windows PC and Xbox 360. The PS4 version was announced in January and will "take full advantage" of the console's unique control and hardware features.
