Dark Void and Quantum Conundrum developer Airtight Games was hit with a small number of layoffs this week, the Redmond-based developer confirmed to Polygon, "as part of a necessary restructuring."
The layoffs, first reported by IGN, affected 14 Airtight Games staff members, president Jim Deal said in an email.
"Existing projects are on schedule, including Murdered: Soul Suspect, which is in fact winding down," Deal said. "Layoffs like this are regrettable but part of the natural ebb and flow of game production. Airtight Games is actively seeking partners for exciting upcoming projects."
Square Enix said in a statement that Murdered: Soul Suspect's launch is expected to be unaffected by yesterday's layoffs at the studio. The supernatural murder mystery is coming to PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One this June.
