Royce Gracie joins EA Sports UFC roster as unlockable fighter

Brazilian mixed martial artist Royce Gracie will be featured in EA Sports' upcoming mixed martial arts title, EA Sports UFC, the company announced today.

Players will be able to unlock Gracie by beating the game on Pro difficulty or higher, or by pre-ordering the game for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. Participating retailers are available on EA Sports' site.

Gracie, now retired, is the winner of 11 consecutive UFC submission victories and holds the record for the longest MMA match, clocking in at 90 minutes. The fighter was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2003.

Gracie joins the roster along with recently announced contenders Glover Teixeira, Marku Munoz and Roy Nelson, as well as martial arts legend and action film star Bruce Lee. For more on why Lee will appear in EA Sports UFC, read our interview with his daughter, Shannon.

EA Sports UFC is slated for launch June 17.
