Destiny website revamp offers more on enemies, classes, locations

An updated website for Bungie's upcoming sci-fi shooter Destiny teases more information about its enemies, three character classes and locations.

Destiny is set on a future Earth after it experienced a golden age introduced with the arrival of the Traveler who "breathed new life into our system." Its arrival brought rain to Mars and made the atmosphere of Venus habitable.
Human colonies on planets within the solar system are now in ruins and colonized by interstellar visitors who are searching the ruined golden age settlements. Players are placed in the role of one of three Guardian types or character classes.

New videos of the three character classes, detailed in Polygon's E3 in-depth interview with its developers, are available on the website. The character classes include the Titans, The Warlocks and the Hunters. Based on the three Guardians, Bungie will offer a numerous number of skins, armor, weapons and other items for players to work with to create highly customized avatars.

New screenshots, videos, more information about the locations and images of the four alien opponents — Fallen, Hive, Vex and Cabal — can be found on the revamped website. Polygon also visited Bungie recently, so check back next Monday for our impressions and news about the game.

Set for a full release on Sept. 9, the Destiny beta is slated for this summer on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, while the public beta will also be available on Xbox 360 and Xbox One at an unannounced date. Players can secure access to the beta by pre-ordering the game.
