The latest update to World of Warplanes brings the air combat title to version 1.3 and adds a new class of aircraft, American heavy fighters, developer Wargaming.net announced today.
Heavy fighters are planes designed for long-range missions with heavier weapons. Today's update brings in six U.S. heavy fighters: the Lockheed P-38F Lightning, Lockheed P-38J Lightning, Grumman F7F Tigercat, McDonnell F2H Banshee, Chance-Vought XF5U Pancake (screenshot above) and Lockheed XF-90. The latter two are experimental aircraft that have never seen real-life combat.
Update 1.3 also includes improvements to World of Warplanes. The game will now detect your graphics hardware and adjust the visuals to fit them; the results screen is now more detailed and easy to understand; the battle replay feature has been tweaked; and miscellaneous bugs have been fixed.
