The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing 2 has been delayed from its release this month and will now launch May 22, developer Neocore Games announced today.

Van Helsing follows the adventures of a legendary monster hunter and is loosely based on Bram Stoker's Dracula. According to the developer, the game will take "a little longer than we thought."

"We want to make sure the sequel is superior to the first game in every aspect and it keeps you nailed to your chairs all the way to the end with its engaging new story," the announcement said. "Now the new date will also mark the anniversary of the first game's release."

Announced last July, Van Helsing 2 is the second installment in a planned trilogy. Unlike its predecessor, it will feature multiple classes: the Arcane Mechanic, Hunter and Thaumaturge.

The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing 2 will be available for $14.99 on Windows PC and Mac via Steam. It's also available for pre-order in several different packages.
