Here is the The Simpsons' Minecraft-stylized intro

Last night's episode of The Simpsons took a more blocky approach to its couch gag, stylizing its opening to look like Mojang's popular sandbox title Minecraft.

The episode, "Luca$," opens with the word "Simcraft" — a direct allusion to the title — before moving on to show cubed versions of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie working their way through an equally cubed version of Springfield. The gag ends with the typical rush to the couch and includes an appearance by Moe the Bartender as Creeper, who promptly does what all Creepers do best.

Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson is aware of the gag. "I'm not sure how I feel about it," he tweeted shortly after the episode aired, noting that to him the game still feels like the "small game" he made at home.

Check out the video above from YouTuber "TotalGamingCoUK" to watch the thirty-second couch gag, or head over to FOX's official website to watch it as well as the entire episode.

Minecraft is currently available for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PCs. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions are on the way. The Xbox 360 Edition recently passed the 12 million copies sold mark.
