The Virtuix Omni virtual reality treadmill is set to ship this September, with units going for $499, according to a listing on Omni's website.
Those who purchase the treadmill will need to buy the Oculus Rift or PC controller needed to use it separately. The $499 price tag also does not include shipping.
The Virtuix Omni supports multi-directional movement with virtual reality support. Players are supported on the treadmill via a back harness and a pair of shoes; all of this is hooked up to tracking software that will allow players to "move" through the game. Pre-orders opened for the Virtuix Omni last August, and at the time it was slated to ship in March 2014. The hardware was crowdfunded through Kickstarter last June, surpassing its $150,000 goal and pulling in $1,109,351.
