Three animated shorts set in the Borderlands universe are now available to watch on Machinima's YouTube channel, publisher 2K Games announced today.
Part of a series known as Tales from the HQ, the three short films were produced by students at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco in partnership with 2K Games and Borderlands developer Gearbox Software. The project, the Borderlands Cooperative, began in March 2013 with a plan to produce one short film; it was later expanded to three.
The three Tales from the HQ shorts are "The Darkest Day," directed by Xandra Zapanta; "Loose Cannon Claptrap," directed by Bradford Hillam; and "Bride of Frankentrap," directed by Leslie Harwood. You can watch "Bride of Frankentrap" above, and check out the other two below. The shorts were originally scheduled to be released last December.
Interested parties can get a behind-the-scenes look at the Borderlands Cooperative and the ongoing evolution of the video game industry in The Art of the Game, a new hourlong documentary.
