Hellraid: The Escape delayed to July, coming to additional devices

Hellraid: The Escape, the upcoming iOS game set in the same universe as Techland's hack-and-slash game, Hellraid, is now set to launch in July, developer Shortbreak Studios announced today.

"We at Shortbreak Studios want to push the boundaries of quality gaming on mobile devices even further," the developer said. "To this end, we have decided to release Hellraid: The Escape in July instead of May. Moreover, this additional time will enable us to release the game on a wider group of devices, including iPad 2 and iPhone 4S."

In The Escape, players battle demons, solve puzzles and explore a magical fortress. It was previously slated for release May 15. An exact date for the game, which will be available for $2.99, has not been announced.

Hellraid: The Escape is being developed to feature full Retina Display support and run on the latest version of Unreal Engine 3. According to Shortbreak, the studio's goal is to develop a mobile game "unlike any other on the App Store." The game features a resolution of 2048x1536 pixels and runs at 30 frames per second.

Techland's game, Hellraid, is expected to launch this year for PlayStation 3, Windows PC and Xbox 360.
