Diablo 3 awards week-long bonus buff to celebrate second anniversary

In honor of Diablo 3's two-year anniversary, Blizzard is rewarding players with a "bonus birthday buff" from May 15 to May 22, community manager Stephanie "Lylirra" Johnson announced via Battle.net.

With the buff, players receive double Rift Fragments and a 100 percent boost for their chances to find Legendary items. The buff will only be available to players on the Windows PC and Mac editions of the game, but "will apply to all characters and stack with similar bonuses."

Diablo 3 launched in 2012. Its expansion, Reaper of Souls, was released in March and sold 2.7 million copies in its first week. The Ultimate Evil Edition of Diablo 3 — a console-exclusive package that includes Reaper of Souls — will be released Aug. 19 on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
