Uncharted 3 patch resets multiplayer leaderboards ahead of charity event

The latest patch for Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception brings the game to version 1.19, with the main change being a leaderboard wipe prior to developer Naughty Dog's participation in the upcoming Operation Supply Drop charity gaming marathon, the studio announced today.

Patch 1.19, which will be available this week, also changes some Block Mesh maps in team deathmatch and The Lab. Naughty Dog is resetting the multiplayer leaderboards in order to "give everyone a fresh start for our upcoming participation in Operation Supply Drop's 8-Bit Salute event," said community strategist Eric Monacelli. He added that with this update, Naughty Dog is "winding down" patch support for Uncharted 3, which was released in November 2011.

Operation Supply Drop, a charitable organization that delivers video games to troops around the world, is holding a 24-hour gaming marathon this weekend: the third annual 8-Bit Salute. The event runs from 9 a.m. ET on Saturday, May 17, to 9 a.m. ET on Sunday, May 18. Naughty Dog will be participating with a livestream on its Twitch channel from 3 p.m. ET on May 17 to 3 a.m. ET on May 18, and community partners will take over from 3 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET. During the stream, the studio will be doing giveaways for copies of its games and DLC, including the Jak and Daxter Collection and the Game of the Year Edition of Uncharted 3.
