The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, an upcoming horror exploration game from developer The Astronauts, will launch for Windows PC in about four months, co-creator Adrian Chmielarz told Eurogamer.
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter follows detective Paul Prospero as he investigates the disappearance and murder of a boy named Ethan Carter. Players gather clues from the game's environment with the help of Paul's supernatural ability to see the final moments of a victim's life. The estimation places the game's launch in the fall — the same timeframe The Vanishing of Ethan Carter takes place in.
Although the game is currently being developed for Windows PC, a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One edition could be "the first thing" the developer does if the game does well.
"It would be idiotic not to, to be honest," Chmielarz said.
The Astronauts is an independent studio formed by former members of People Can Fly in 2012. For more on the studio and their upcoming title, check out our interview with Chmielarz.
