Why are so many games released in the fall and so few in the summer?

Well not all of them, but a lot, and this year seems to be no different with Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Far Cry 4, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Destiny, Batman: Arkham Knight and Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor to name a few. So why every year do all these games get crammed into the last months of the year, instead of spaced out a bit more?
