The first developer diary for Wargaming's World of Warships details the sea-based action players can expect from the developer's upcoming massively multiplayer online title.
In the video above, developers discuss the historical research going into World of Warships' production. The game will include a wide range of World War II-era vehicles for players to take to the ocean with, including battleships, cruisers, aircraft carriers and destroyers — though not submarines, as they don't fit the developers' gameplay vision.
World of Warships was announced as World of Battleships in August 2011. The name was changed one year later and entered closed alpha testing in fall 2013. The game will maintain the in-game credits currency system from Wargaming's other vehicular battling MMOS, World of Tanks and World of Warplanes.
