World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition developer Wargaming West will release the free Soviet Steel update for the military combat game on June 3, the studio announced today.
Billed as the game's largest update yet, Soviet Steel will add 29 U.S.S.R. vehicles — light, medium and heavy tanks, and tank destroyers — to World of Tanks. Also included are two new maps, Komarin and Ensk. Soviet Steel will bring up the game's vehicle count above 150. Screenshots of the various tanks are available on the game's website.
Wargaming.net also announced today that the Xbox 360 Edition will be released on disc in August. The retail package for the free-to-play game will come with 1,500 in-game gold and other paid content: a German premium vehicle, the Panzer 38H Tier II light tank; 200,000 in-game silver; three days of premium account time, which provides 50 percent boosts to earning silver and XP; and a 30-day Xbox Live Gold membership. The bundle, which is known as the Combat Ready Starter Pack, will cost $19.99.
