Anno: Build an Empire is bringing city building to iPad

Anno: Build an Empire, a touch-based version of developer Blue Byte's real-time strategy city-building franchise, is headed to iPad "soon," publisher Ubisoft announced today.

The forthcoming iPad version has been "rebuilt from the ground up to be compatible with mobile gameplay" and is being developed in collaboration with Mi’pu’mi Games, an independent studio founded by former Rockstar Games developers.

In Anno: Build an Empire, players will begin with a single island, on which they build their city, ensure their citizens' happiness and expand their empire. At its unannounced release date, Anno: Build an Empire will require iOS 6 or higher and at least an iPad 2. Check out the gallery below to see the game in still form.
