Valiant Hearts: The Great War launches June 25

Ubisoft Montpellier's World War I puzzle adventure Valiant Hearts: The Great War will launch on June 25, the developer announced today.

The downloadable title will be available for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

Valiant Hearts is a 2D cartoon-stylized adventure in which players will have to solve puzzles and maneuver through enemy territory to succeed. Players will follow five characters — Anna Emile, Freddie, Kar and their dog, Walt — on their struggle to deal with betrayal, heartbreak, loss and retain their humanity in the face of a devastating war.

Valiant Hearts, like the recently-released JRPG-inspired Child of Light, was developed using the UbiArt Framework, the graphics engine behind platformers Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends. The game was announced last year at Ubisoft's Digital Days, and at the time, developers told us the title is not a war game, but rather meant to explore the emotional toll of the first World War.
