Side-scrolling shoot-'em-up games R-Type and R-Type 2 are being re-released as remastered collection R-Type Dimensions, Tozai Games rep David Bruno announced via the PlayStation Blog.
Both games will feature HD graphics, revamped music and new features, such as local co-op and a slow motion play function. R-Type fans will have access to all eight of the game's original levels and R-Type 2's six levels. The game also includes leaderboards, player stats and trophies.
"Players are going see, hear, and experience R-Type and R-Type 2 like never before," Bruno wrote. "Both games have been given updated HD graphics, pulsing new audio tracks, and to top it off, players can even switch between new hi-res 2D/3D graphics, or play the classic versions with the push of a button. Tozai is also adding all-new features like Infinite Mode and Level Select that will allow players to learn the levels inside and out so they can shoot for those perfect, 1CC runs."
R-Type Dimensions will launch for PlayStation 3 on May 20. For a look at the game, check out the trailer above.
