Nintendo will host another Nintendo Game Seminar in Japan this summer, giving a group of students the opportunity to create video games under the guidance of the company's developers, according to the program's website.
The Nintendo Game Seminar returned last year after a three-year break between 2010 and 2012. Last year's seminar focused on creating games within the Nintendo Web Framework, while this year's program will center on making 2D games in Unity for the Wii U.
Applications will be open online June 16 through June 29. University students in the Tokyo metropolitan or Kansai region in Japan — near Nintendo's headquarters — are eligible for the program, which will run from mid-August 2014 to March 2015. Students will be grouped into teams of seven each to work on their games. Nintendo will provide participants with access to Nintendo's developers as well as development and equipment, and will host special lectures on game development throughout the program.
Interested applicants can find more details on travel expenses and university requirements through the seminar's application page.
