Dead Rising 3 coming to PC in September

Dead Rising 3 is coming to Windows PC Sept. 5 via Steam for $49.99, Capcom announced today.

Pre-orders are open now, currently at a 25 percent discount with Steam's limited 24-Hour Sale, lowering the price to $37.49. The PC version will include upgraded textures, support Steam Achievements and Trading Cards and support keyboard and mouse as well as controller play.

Minimum and recommended PC requirements are listed in full below. Capcom states that Dead Rising 3 is optimized to run at 30 frames per second for gameplay reasons, but players can expect it to run "uncapped under most conditions" depending on hardware. Performance examples on different set ups are available on the game's Steam Community page.

"We can't guarantee that there won't be issues, and obviously depending on your rig you may see different results. Rest assured the beefier your gaming machine, the smoother your zombie killing experience will be," the post reads. "Bear in mind the frame rate will fluctuate in uncapped mode in certain areas, particularly later in the game, where streets are literally filled with zombies and other complex objects. Couple that with an open world sandbox game engine, big explosions, complex physics interaction, and huge draw distance and you're bound to experience dips here and there."

Word of the PC version escalated earlier this month when a listing appeared in the Steam Database, and a video released around the same time invited players to "join the conversation" on Steam.
