Nexon will publish Sleeping Dogs developer's upcoming free-to-play game

Sleeping Dogs developer United Front Games' next game — a free-to-play title slated to launch in 2015 – will be exclusively published by Nexon America, the company announced today.

Vancouver-based United Front Games' portfolio includes 2010 PlayStation 3 title ModNation Racers, a collaboration with Media Molecule on LittleBigPlanet Karting and assistance on the Xbox One version of Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition. Last October, the studio also announced it was working on another game also set in the Sleeping Dogs universe called Triad Wars.

Nexon America is a division of Nexon Co. Ltd., an international company with a focus on free-to-play online games. Nexon will publish London-based Splash Damage's upcoming online shooter Dirty Bomb — set to launch later this year — as well as Human Element, the new game from Robert Bowling's studio Robotoki slated for 2015. Nexon also specializes in bringing Eastern-developed games such as MMORPG MapleStory, action-combat game Vindictus and turn-based MMORPG Atlantica Online.

"Nexon brings an unparalleled wealth of knowledge of the growing free-to-play market," United Front CEO Stephen van der Mescht said in a press statement. "We are thrilled to partner with a publisher who has an excellent track record of building direct and meaningful relationships with players. We can't wait to unveil our new title with Nexon America — we're confident it's going to be a smash hit."

"We are committed to bringing a new line-up of AAA-quality free-to-play games to the Western market, and our partnership with United Front Games is another step toward achieving this goal," added Nexon president and CEO Owen Mahoney. "United Front Games' team has a great track record of developing successful titles, and we're looking forward to showing the world what our combined strengths can create in 2015."
