A pinball table for Telltale Games' The Walking Dead is in development for Zen Studios' Zen Pinball franchise and will be available this summer on consoles, PC and mobile, the companies announced today.
Zen is collaborating with Telltale to produce a pinball table themed with art and characters from the latter studio's celebrated episodic adventure game. The Budapest, Hungary-based pinball developer has previously released themed tables and stand-alone games for properties like Marvel and Star Wars.
The Walking Dead table for Zen Pinball is based on the first season of Telltale's game, which followed Lee Everett as he attempted to protect a young girl, Clementine, in the zombie apocalypse in George. The table will feature locations from the five episodes in the first season, including Clementine's backyard, the Everetts' pharmacy and Savannah. Players of the table will have to make choices similar to those in the adventure game, like which person to save and which one to leave behind, and the table will include dialogue from Telltale's episodes.
"Zen Studios is a huge admirer of Telltale Games, and we truly cherish the opportunity to work with such amazing visionaries," said Mel Kirk, vice president of publishing at Zen Studios, in a press release today. "Working with Telltale's The Walking Dead is a hallmark moment as we continue our quest to create the most memorable and authentic pinball experiences."
"Zen knocked it out of the park with their interpretation Telltale's first season of The Walking Dead as a pinball table," said Steve Allison, senior vice president of publishing at Telltale Games.
