EarthNight, Cleaversoft's hand-painted roguelike runner about the dragon apocalypse, will launch on PlayStation 4 in 2015 followed shortly by a PlayStation Vita release, lead developer Rich Siegel announced on the PlayStation blog.
The game centers on heroes Stanley and Sydney who decide to skydive to the surface of a Dragon infested Earth and take out as many of the beasts as possible on the way down. Siedel explains that Stanley caters to beginner players with his simpler control scheme, while Sydney is suited to experts with a less intuitive but rewarding control scheme.
EarthNight's gameplay is highly accessible as it uses two buttons, according to Siedel, but the controls offer "surprising depth" to experienced gamers. "If you get flustered or start button mashing, you'll be dead quick," he wrote. "A player can beat the game in 30 minutes, but it will take hundreds of runs to gain the skills to reach the final world."
The hand-painted roguelike runner features Twitch integration and a PS4 demo will be playable in Sony's booth at E3 2013 next week in Sony's booth. Polygon will be in attendance at the convention to bring you all the coverage. You can see the game in action in the video above.
