Voice actresses Ashly Burch and Sarah Elmaleh will be the keynote speakers at the 2014 Boston Festival of Indie Games, event organizers announced today.
The festival — set to take place on Sept. 13, 2014 on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's campus in Boston, Mass. — is open to the public and celebrates the growing indie game community.
Burch, the star and co-create of web series "Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin'?" and the voice of Tiny Tina in Borderlands 2, along with Elmaleh — whose voice acting credits include Gone Home, Skulls of the Shogun, Codename Cygnus and Resonance — will discuss their time in the games industry and bringing life to characters. Their talk, "An Actor's Truth, the Future of Indies and the End of the AAA Everyman," the pair will discuss how the indie community's dedication to "the colorful, the offbeat, the particular, and the peculiar" has given rise to strong protagonists and the acting decisions involved in voicing them.
Tickets for The Boston Festival of Indie Games are $10 each and available for purchase through the event's website.
