Monster Hunter Freedom Unite heading to iOS devices

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, originally a PSP title based on Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G in Japan, will launch for iOS devices via the App Store, Capcom announced today.

The game will be available on iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, iPad mini and iPad Air. New features, including HD graphics, touch screen controls, target camera options and "seamless" co-op multiplayer quests, have been added to the game.

"From devising the strategy to executing the attack, players will need to work together in order to hunt down ferocious beasts and progress through the wide range of quests on offer," the announcement reads. "Players will be rewarded for their use of deep fighting combat systems, encouraging them to seek out the more experienced hunters and team up in order to learn from their expertise."

The game is also available on PlayStation Vita.

Capcom reiterated that Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate for Nintendo 3DS will get a Western launch in early 2015. Players will be able to adventure with friends using the Nintendo Network and wireless options. The game includes new expanded actions, two weapon classes and new monsters.
