Persona 4 Arena Ultimax DLC free in first week, Atlus sponsoring Evo side tournament

Add-on characters for Persona 4 Arena Ultimax will be free for all players during the game's first week on the market, Atlus announced today.

The DLC, which features Persona 4's Tohru Adachi and his unique Persona Magatsu-Izanagi — previously announced only for release in Japan — will be made available to North American players. After the game's first week on the market, Adachi will revert to paid DLC.

Atlus also announced that it will contribute $1,000 and some other Atlus-themed goodies to the prize pool of a side tournament at the Evo 2014 fighting games event featuring Persona 4 Arena. Registration for these unofficial matches are being handled by Dustloop and will run up until one hour before the tournament begins.

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax will launch on Aug. 28 in Japan and this fall in North America.
