Heavenly Sword film heads to DVD, Blu-ray and PSN on Sept. 2

Video game-turned-film adaptation Heavenly Sword is coming to Blu-ray, DVD and PlayStation Network on Sept. 2, Cinedigm announced today.

The straight-to-video movie stars Anna Torv of Fringe fame, reprising her role as the voice of redhead warrior woman Nariko. Joining her on voice acting duties is Spider-man 2's Alfred Molina and The Punisher's Thomas Jane.

First developed for PlayStation 3 in 2007 by game studio Ninja Theory, the original video game featured both Torv and actor Andy Serkis in roles that required voice acting and motion capture throughout. The movie features similar-looking CGI, which you can see in action above from the 2013 trailer.
