Raspberry Pi Model B+, the "final evolution" of the miniature computer's hardware, is out and available to purchase online.
Model B+ adds two USB 2.0 ports to the original design, a new micro SD slot, uses less power and provides better audio, according to a post today on the device's official blog. Press play below for an introduction to the new hardware in video form.
Released in February 2012, the credit card-sized Raspberry Pi was created to provide a "tiny and affordable computer for kids." Its creators announced in March 2014 that more than 2.5 million units have been sold.
Since its introduction, modders have used the hardware to create a functioning Pip-Boy 3000 from Fallout and a game emulator inside the shell of a Nintendo Entertainment System, among many other things. A version of developer Mojang's blocky world building game, Minecraft: Pi Edition, was revealed for the hardware early last year.
