These former Infinity Ward devs are making a first-person shooter for VR and mobile

A website for a new game studio made up of developers formerly from Call of Duty studio Infinity Ward, as spotted by IGN, confirms a new first-person shooter is underway for consoles, virtual reality devices and mobile.

The new development studio is called Reload Studios and features five industry veterans, four of which who previously had a career with Infinity Ward. This includes founding member James Chung, Taehoon Oh, Pete Blumel, Hougant Chen and former Disney animator Nik Ranieri. There are currently 12 employees in total.

"When I first saw what the latest round of VR devices could do, I realized these were not just peripherals but brand new platforms that could transform the way we experience, interact with and create media," reads a statement from Chung in a press release on the studio's website. "It was the perfect time to follow my passion and bring together the most talented people I know under one roof to form a development culture that promotes creativity and collaboration."

Taehoon Oh adds: "People are always looking for something new. Just as smartphones changed the way we live our lives, I am sure VR will change the way people experience media content. As a game developer, this realization compelled me to become part of a new team that focuses on developing VR content."

The team's as of yet unannounced shooter is scheduled to launch sometime next year. You can check out their website here.
