Counter-Strike: Global Offensive's latest update, Operation Breakout, brings six highly rated community-created maps to the shooter, along with the introduction of mission drops, developer Valve announced yesterday.
The six new maps — BlackGold, Castle, Insertion, Mist, Overgrown and Rush — are available in casual, deathmatch and competitive modes in official matchmaking to everybody from now until Oct. 2. CS: GO players can also purchase the Operation Breakout All-Access Pass for $5.99 to open up a variety of additional content.
As usual, buyers will receive a challenge coin for the operation. In addition, Operation Breakout introduces missions, which provide rewards for completing certain tasks like getting a set amount of kills with a certain gun and winning a particular match type. The rewards consist of weapon finishes from three new groups: the Baggage Collection, which comes from "around the world"; the Cobblestone Collection, which is inspired by the Cobblestone map; and the Overpass Collection, which is inspired by the Overpass map.
Operation Breakout also includes the Operation Case, a set of drops of 14 top-rated community-created weapon finishes. Holders of the Operation Breakout coin will receive exclusive Operation Case drops along with their regular drops. And players can keep track of their Breakout progress in the Operation Journal.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is available on Mac and Windows PC through Steam for $14.99.
