Developer Horse Volume has just released the first teaser from its upcoming The Sun also Rises, which is about the war in Iraq, and not about depressed lost generation types drinking their days away in Spain.
The trailer has a colorful, stylized look and hints at the game's vignette structure, based as it is on real-life accounts of U.S. military personnel.
This appears to be part of an encouraging trend — games about war that are more introspective and thoughtful in tone. This year alone, we've seen the release of Valiant Hearts and seen the announcement of This War of Mine, Sunset and now, The Sun Also Rises.
The game will be released on PC, Mac and OUYA, though no release date has been announced. There are also plans for a Kickstarter campaign for the game, though those details aren’t yet available.
