Hyrule Warriors Nintendo Direct coming Aug. 4

Nintendo will host a special Nintendo Direct video presentation focused on upcoming hack-and-slash game Hyrule Warriors, according to a tweet from its official account.

The presentation will be broadcast through Nintendo's website on Monday, Aug. 4 at 11 p.m. ET and will feature new details on the Wii U title, which will launch in Japan on Aug. 14, Europe on Sept. 19 and in North America on Sept. 26.

Hyrule Warriors, developed in collaboration with Tecmo Koei and created in the vein of the Dynasty Warriors games, features characters heralding from across The Legend of Zelda franchise duking it out and crunching through mobs of enemies. The current roster includes Link, Princess Zelda, Impa, new character Lana, Midna and Agitha from Twilight Princess, Fi from Skyward Sword, and Princess Ruto, Darunia and Sheik from The Ocarina of Time. Notable villains included in the game are Skyward Sword's main antagonist Ghirahim and Twilight Princess's Zant.

For more details on the roster, check out our interview with the developers from E3. To tide you over until then, here's a 10-minute loop of Ghirahim's strange dance from Skyward Sword.
