You see this gold Monster Hunter statue? It costs more than your car

Capcom has been marking the 10th anniversary of the Monster Hunter franchise with special collectible items, and the latest one is a solid gold statue that costs more than $29,000.

The limited-edition Otomo Airou figure is made by the Japanese company SGC. It's a relatively small statue, measuring approximately 2.17 inches wide by 4.92 inches deep by 3.54 inches high, although presumably, those dimensions refer to the statue itself and don't include the large base it sits on. The figure weighs in at 120 grams (4.23 ounces), and it is solid 24-karat gold.

Capcom lists the price of the figure at 2.99 million yen ($29,174), and SGC is producing only 10 of them. The statue, which will be available Aug. 2, joins other collectibles for Monster Hunter's 10th anniversary, such as a $22,000 guitar from ESP based on an in-game sword.
