Marvel has released a look back at the first two phases of its cinematic plan, and there's many good scenes from many good movies. They've hidden a few surprises in there as well, including quick looks at both Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, two characters who will be appearing in the upcoming Avengers 2: Age of Ultron.
The Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch footage was taken from the post-credits bumper of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and it's going to be interesting to see a character who made such a mark in the latest X-Men movie also be portrayed in an Avengers film. The Fox licensing deals usually keep these worlds apart, to the point that Marvel has to avoid saying "mutants" in marketing materials or during appearances, so this is a nifty crossover, even if they remain completely unconnected in the canon.
The footage does a good job of showing the tone and scope of the Marvel films that have already been released, as well as teasing some of what's to come. Thanos isn't a small-time villain, and past post-credit bumpers have teased the Infinity Gauntlet, to the point that Thanos actor Josh Brolin was wearing it during his Comic Con appearance.
No other production company in history has linked this many movies together in such a cohesive way, and the plan for more movies that tie into this world isn't slowing down. This is a good time to be into superhero movies.
