Moon Studios' action platformer Ori and the Blind Forest will launch for Xbox One and Windows PC this holiday, game director Thomas Mahler announced today during Microsoft's Gamescom press conference.
In Ori and the Blind Forest, players will navigate a perilous, dark forest with Ori, a white guardian spirit. During E3 —shortly after the game's announcement for Xbox One and PC — Mahler told Polygon that the game was inspired by NeoGAF threads discussing old, classic games forum users miss.
"I grew up playing Super Metroid and I want games like that again," he said. "I read NeoGAF and constantly read how they want games like this but it's not being done."
