Destiny's first expansion, The Dark Below, is scheduled to be available this December on all platforms, developer Bungie announced today during Sony's Gamescom 2014 press briefing.

Jonty Barnes, director of production at Bungie, announced some new timed exclusives for PlayStation customers. The Dark Below will be available early on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, and players on those platforms will also get early access to a Strike mission, Dust Palace, and the competitive multiplayer map Exodus Blue.

The competitive mode, Crucible, features six-on-six multiplayer action. You can check out a brand-new Crucible trailer above. Destiny will be available Sept. 9 on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The game's special editions include access to the two currently announced expansions.
