The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt developer CD Projekt Red dropped some gameplay footage of the title during Gamescom 2014 this week, and the action role-playing game appears to be shaping up nicely.
Geralt talks to a resident of Downwarren, who tells him that villagers have been disappearing. The cause is unknown, but it appears to originate in the Whispering Hillock.
"The war awoke an ancient power. An evil one that feeds on bloodshed. Nightmares haunt our nights and days," the individual explains.
Geralt deals with a few enemies as he makes his way to the Whispering Hillock, where he encounters a powerful werewolf and some regular wolves. That's where the clip ends, leaving the mystery of the villagers' disappearance unsolved. For that, we'll have to wait until Feb. 24, 2015, when The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is set to launch on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One.
