Ikaruga and Radiant Silvergun director has a new shooting game for PS4

The director of seminal shoot 'em ups Ikaruga, Radiant Silvergun and Gradius V, Hiroshi Iuchi, says he's working on a new shooting game called Ubusuna, a downloadable title coming to PlayStation 4.

In a blog post on his website translated by Siliconera, Iuchi says his next shooter is still a way off and one of a number of projects he's working on at M2. Iuchi worked on 3D After Burner 2, the Nintendo 3DS port of Sega's classic arcade shooter, at M2.

While Ubusuna is being developed primarily for PS4 in terms of scope and budget, Iuchi said, that doesn't rule out versions for other platforms.

M2 is best known for its excellence in porting and emulating classic games, mostly for Konami and Sega. The company also develops original games based on existing franchises, like the ReBirth entries for Castlevania, Contra and Gradius.

Iuchi's most recent original shooter, Kokuga, was released for Nintendo 3DS in 2012.
