Beginning with a Stanley Kubrick riff, the new trailer for Star Citizen journeys through various space-fiction familiars, and is none the worse as a result.
Presented as an ad for galactic travel outfitter Roberts Space Industries, it introduces us to the thrill of discovering new planets and weird new lifeforms, while crewing a sleek and shiny spaceship.
Star Citizen has so far raised almost $50 million in crowdfunding. Created by Chris Roberts, it's a massive space-combat, trading and exploration adventure that is being released in modules.
Other new trailers released in the last 24 hours tease the game's first-person shooting and racing modules as well as some new spaceship hangars.
