Joshua Rubin, one of the writers behind Bungie's upcoming shooter Destiny, has left the studio one month prior to its release for a new position at Telltale Games, he announced via Twitter.
Rubin will be working on Telltale's upcoming episodic series based on George R.R. Martin's fantasy series Game of Thrones and its subsequent HBO television show. Telltale announced the project last December during the 2013 Spike Video Game Awards and confirmed earlier this year that its plot will run parallel to the TV program.

"[Showrunners] [David] Benioff and [D.B.] Weiss have set an incredibly high standard for writing," Rubin tweeted. "I'm inspired by their work every season. I'm gonna have to up my game!"
Rubin spent two years at Bungie, where he was the creative lead on the Dead Ghosts journal entries Destiny players will find scattered through the world. He also assisted on development of the game's world, building mythology, plotting out season arcs and writing scripts for cinematics and mission dialogue.
Prior to his time at Bungie, Rubin was a lead writer on projects at both Capcom in Osaka, Japan and Visceral Games, and in 2009 co-wrote the script for Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed 2.
Destiny is set to launch on Sept. 9 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 ad Xbox One.
