Canadian freelance illustrator and multimedia designer Marco D'Alfonso imagines what Norman Rockwell's take would have been on modern heroes in this trio of amazing faux Saturday Evening Post covers.
My favorite among the bunch has to be his take on Resident Evil 3 and the gear all video game characters seem to haul around. The print, below, will be part of the 8_bit & Beyond 2 art show opening Aug. 8 at Bottleneck Gallery in Brooklyn. (Inspired by Rockwell's "Liberty Girl.")
Then there's this amazing Captain America, Rockwell crossover inspired by "The Doughboy and his admirers."
And finally there's D'Alfonso's tribute to Rockwell's "The Tattooist", which features an artist decking out Optimus Prime's shoulder with flames.
If you like what you see, you should hop over to D'Alfsonso's website to see a whole lot more and the chance to buy a few of them.
