Arrowhead Game Studios reboot of the classic co-op dungeon crawler Gauntlet, initially slated to launch on Sept. 3, has been pushed back to Sept. 23, publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced today.
The reboot — announced this past March — will launch for Linux Windows PC through Steam for $19.99. Gauntlet will include full support for the Steam OS software in preparation for the 2015 launch of Steam Machines.
According to a statement from the publisher, the reason for the delay is so the team can fine-tune Gauntlet's multiplayer mode. As a thank you for support, Warner Bros. is including an in-game bonus item with all pre-orders — a Wizard's Robe called the The Spawn of Kerthull, crafted from dead imps.
Players will be able to get hands-on time with Gauntlet during PAX Prime this weekend in Seattle, Wash.
