Meet the John Wayne of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel

Russ Frushtick is the director of special projects, and he has been covering the world of video games and technology for over 15 years. He co-founded Polygon in 2012.

The latest anti-hero to be introduced in Borderlands: The Presequel loves her pistols.

At a recent press event, I had the chance to play as three of the four stars of the next Borderlands game. Sadly, Claptrap was left out of the mix, but Nisha, the gunslinger, was made available for the first time.

Her skillset, predictably, is focused on shooting stuff. As you move down her skill tree, you'll be granted things like faster firing rates or, even more exotically, the ability to clone any pistol, letting you dual-wield whenever it's equipped.

Her active skill is also especially useful, letting you automatically aim at any enemies within range, just by holding the left trigger. It's extremely satisfying as her aim whips from target to target, clearing a room in seconds.

But don't take my word for it! Watch the video above, where I take Griffin McElroy on a journey of discovery.
