Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid is the latest video game character to get the giant-headed, highly poseable and extremely cute action figure treatment in Good Smile Company's Nendoroid line of toys. The chibiest of Solid Snakes won't be out until November, but you put a pre-order in for the Nendoroid right now.
Snake, which retails for 4,500 yen in Japan (about $44) and stands about four inches tall, comes with a base, a cardboard box in which to sneak and a handful of accessories: a lit cigarette and miniature versions of his SOCOM pistol and FAMAS assault rifle. The best accessory may be Solid Snake's low polygon alternate head (see below).
Toy importers like AmiAmi, Big Bad Toy Store and J-List currently have pre-orders open.
Other Nendoroid figures based on games include the upcoming Red from Pokemon and Link from The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. Good Smile released Nendoroids based on Luigi, Sonic the Hedgehog and Isabelle from Animal Crossing: New Leaf last year.
